Düsseldorf, the capital and second-largest city of North Rhine-Westphalia, is a mix of old and new Germany. The Altstadt, or Old Town, is centrally located behind the Rhine Embankment Promenade and has been dubbed “the longest bar in the world” due to the estimated 300 bars and discos in the area. Shopping aficionados will be more than pleased with the variety of shops and interesting boutiques on Königsallee and Schadowstraße while fans of history and culture will not want to miss visiting St. Lambertus Church, the Rathaus (Town Hall) or the 13th-century Schlossturm (Castle Tower) which houses the nautical museum. Those with more time on their hands may also consider short trips to visit the Baroque-style 18th-century mansion of Schloss Benrath or the 12th-century ruins of Kaiserpfalz in the picturesque town of Kaiserswerth.

The beautiful capital city of the Netherlands is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe thanks to its many attractions. Amsterdam is a cosmopolitan city with many world-famous sights, not least of which is its traditional narrow houses with their gabled facades dating back to the Golden Age of the 17th century.

Amsterdam is also famous as an artistic hotspot and visitors flock to the many museums and galleries including the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum. Take a stroll or discover the city on two wheels – cycling is a popular pastime here – and get a real feel for the authentic Dutch atmosphere. Experience the notorious Red Light District by day or by night, visit the Anne Frank House where the family hid during the German occupation or take a boat trip on the spectacular canals – all wonderful ways to enjoy your time in the city.

Hoorn is situated in the Netherlands near Lake Markermeer and is available for cruises on the Dutch-Belgian Rivers. It is a popular dock of call for several sea trips in the area. Due to its long history as a seaport, established in 1716, it has a rich maritime heritage, a trading center up to the 18th era, and a Napoleonic livelihood when it vanished its influence on the sphere of maritime occupation. After the construction of the Great War Dam was completed in 1932, the city was no longer a seaport, but an abundance for the constantly growing Amsterdam and continuously enjoyed increasing fame as a tourist terminus.

Hoorn can discover loads of heritage by driving through cobbled streets. Do not miss the opportunity to visit the prominent cheese marketplace, where whole cheese wheels are put on the floor and vendors in customary Dutch costumes sell their goods in the city’s historic central square. It dates from the golden age of the Netherlands.

Discover beautiful Rotterdam, the second-biggest city in the Netherlands. This major port is in the South of the country and has a long and fascinating seafaring heritage. While much of the city was reconstructed following the Second World War, the modern and bold architecture is exceptionally attractive, making this the perfect spot to discover the best of the Low Countries.

You can learn more about the city’s shipping past at the Maritime Museum where exhibits and vintage ships showcase the region’s history. Rotterdam is also well-known for its Delfshaven neighborhood – a district that dates back to the 1600s. This part of the city is home to canalside boutiques as well as the Pilgrim Fathers’ Church – the site where the pilgrims worshiped before they sailed to the New World.

Depart: 8:00 PM

Manneken Pis or Atomium? Then you have arrived in Belgium’s capital Brussels! The Manneken Pis is a fountain figure made of bronze, which is only about half a meter tall but has been delighting people since 1650. In addition to the ancient buildings, Brussels is also known for its cuisine, especially its fine chocolates, which are available in numerous chocolatiers. If enough buildings have been visited and the sweets extensively tested, a relaxing day can only be rounded off by a delicious beer. There are plenty of them in Brussels and as a beer lover, you can choose your favorite beer from a selection of over 1,000 types. Whether Manneken Pis, Chocolatier, or Leffe Blonde – in Brussels you will find everything your heart desires.

As Belgium’s second-largest city, and with a history that dates back to the Middle Ages, the modern port of Antwerp sits straddling the River Scheldt. At its center lies the centuries-old Diamond District, with its cutters, polishers, and traders, plying their trade as their ancestors did all those years ago. The architecture of the city’s old town is as grand as anything you will find anywhere, while modern Antwerp offers chic independent fashion houses and museums of art, including the Rubens Museum.

The Museum by the Stream (MAS), opened in 2011 and depicts the Port City through the ages. The port is also famous for its coffee storage facilities, 250,000 tonnes of beans are stored at any one time. It’s little wonder that wherever you walk, you’re never far from a trendy coffee shop. The revamped port area is also a magnet for foodies, with Michelin-starred restaurants living alongside an eclectic mix of international eateries.

Probably the oldest town in the Netherlands, Nijmegen’s history dates back to Roman times. Located on the Waal river, the town originated as a Roman military camp. Visitors enjoy visiting parks such as Valkhof Park, located by the river, and Kronenburger park, situated between the old town and the railway station.

The town center’s Grote Markt (market square) is home to a large number of restaurants and cafes where visitors can relax and soak up the local atmosphere. The square also plays host to the 13th-century St. Stevens church and De Waagh, a beautiful building that dates back to the 17th century. Due to its varied and ancient history, Nijmegen has a number of museums that reflect the events that took place in and around the town. A bicycle museum displays examples of the Netherlands’ favorite form of transport that date from the 1800s to WW2 and beyond.
